Jungle Warfare Book Review

Jungle Warfare by Christopher Cunningham is subtitled “A Basic Field Manual for Christians in Sales”. It is modeled after a World War II US Army manual. Cunningham’s premise is that as a Christian in the workplace, we are waging spiritual jungle warfare and should prepare in a similar fashion.

The book is set up in two parts. First, there is a 22 day devotional that serves to introduce the basic concepts in the book and provide time for reflection on how they can be applied to the business life. Second, there is a resource that discusses common dilemmas for salespeople such as competition or compromised integrity. Each problem is discussed with supporting scriptures for additional study.

Although it is written primarily for salespeople, the book covers issues that people in all types of businesses face. One of the benefits of the daily devotional is that it provides focus for those who must be on the road for days at a time and away from wise counsel.

This is not a book for in-depth study of any of the topics, but it is a good devotional and overview.

About Lilibet King

I'm a mid-level manager for a national company, one that doesn't permit me to mention its name in a blog - I'm not that high up in the company. I'm an introvert who has trouble finding material on leadership for those who are introverted and/or shy, so I'm writing my own based on almost 20 years experience in management and supervision.
